Situated next to Science World on Vancouver’s seawall, the solar power charging station provides users with a comfortable spot to sit or stand while charging their smartphones with renewable energy. W3 developed a contemporary form that provides both bench seating and a standing height desk area while elegantly housing the solar panel and charging components. A partnership with BC Hydro, the City of Vancouver, Science World, W3 and fabricator 3DS Three Dimensional Services, the pilot aims to contribute to Metro Vancouver’s progress towards a sustainable future.
